The Virtual Museum of Canada has a neat activity called The Train Messenger. It would be accessible to English Language Learners of all levels.
In it, you can design a train and the scenery, write a message about it, and then email the url so it can be posted on a blog or online journal. While you’re making your train, you can also read (in simple English) information about the types of rail cars and locomotives you’re deciding to use.

Many of my students feel a strong connection to Israel and have visited Israel at least once. Some of my students are Israeli. When an opportunity for my students to work with students in Israel on a “flat classroom” type of project, I jumped at the chance. I am pleased to introduce you to our project, which I am calling “Faces of Judaism.” Together with the Neveh Channah Torah High School for Girls, my students at the Weber School are exploring their Jewish identity through writing. Nevada Caucus participants “standing-up” for their candidates.
My wife and I helped make history today by participating in the first Nevada Caucus for president. I teach elementary school, but my BA is in political science, and I found the process and experience interesting and rewarding.
